Acupuncture treatment involves the insertion and manipulation of flexible, hair-thin needles into specific acupuncture points along energy pathways or ‘meridians’.
Most patients find the sensations produced by acupuncture treatment to be deeply relaxing both mentally and physically.
Acupuncture and/or Electro-Acupuncture
Treatment May Also include:
Tuina, Cupping, Ear Seeds
Cupping is an ancient technique, in which glass cups are applied to the skin and held in place by suction.
The suction draws the upper layers of tissue/fascia into the cup, which may either be left in place or moved along the body. Cupping brings blood & fluid to the area and helps improve circulation.
Traditional cupping sometimes referred to as “fire cupping," uses heat to create a vacuum-like suction inside of glass cups.
Treatment May Also Include:
(May include scrapping, Ear seeds)
Tuina means "pushing grasping," and is a powerful form of Chinese massage. Tuina is particularly effective for conditions involving muscles, tendons, and joints, such as structural misalignment, orthopedic problems, and sports injuries.
Treatment May Also Include:
Cupping, Guasha/Scrapping, or Ear seeds

What is Acupuncture?
This holistic way of promoting the body’s natural healing process has been practiced for thousands of years. It is part of the broader category of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which includes: Chinese Herbal Medicine, Cupping, Gua Sha, Tuina and much more.
Acupuncture treatment involves the insertion and manipulation of flexible, hair-thin needles into specific acupuncture points along energy pathways or ‘meridians’. Most patients find the sensations produced by acupuncture treatment to be deeply relaxing both mentally and physically. Having evolved over thousands of years, acupuncture is one of the oldest continually practiced medical modalities in the world.
Acupuncture is used to help prevent and treat disease, relieve pain, balance mood, increase fertility, and improve overall health and wellness. Modern research has shown that acupuncture is a safe, effective, chemical-free way to promote the body's remarkable self-healing abilities.
What does acupuncture feel like done by a trained and Registered Acupuncturist? Does it hurt?
The sensation from the needles may vary from person to person. During insertion there may be a slight pinch; after insertion, some soreness or heaviness is very common, but most people feel little or no pain. The needles are flexible, and hair-thin unlike the needles used by medical doctors for shots or intravenous (IV). One hypodermic (injection) needle can fit approximately fifteen acupuncture needles.
Though many people may think ALL acupuncture is the same, the major differences between TCM acupuncture and IMS/Dry Needling are the training & education, the scope of practice, as well as the needling methods and clinical experience. IMS uses acupuncture needles to stimulate muscles at ‘trigger points’ or tight bands of muscle to induce a contraction which in turn releases the muscle tension and/or endorphins to relieve the tension or pain. TCM uses specific acupuncture meridian points and theory not only to treat pain and musculoskeletal issues but also to treat many health conditions which have been recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO).
The World Health Organization (WHO) has documented many symptoms, diseases, and conditions that have been shown in controlled clinical trials to be effectively treated with acupuncture.

“I saw Ryan due to shoulder pain from a car accident. He was professional and very thorough in his explanation of the whole process and made me feel very comfortable. I felt relief during and after the treatment, my shoulder pain was reduced and he even helped bring relief to a bronchial infection that I had during that time! If you've ever considered acupuncture, get it from someone who is caring and knowledgeable like Ryan. I'll definitely be back”

“I've had an issue with my lower back for many years, and have tried chiropractors, massage therapists, and really anything that would help, with little to no success. Ryan was the first person that actually made a substantial difference and took away the painful pinching feeling I had in my lower back. He's kind, listens, and genuinely wants to help. Thanks, Ryan!”

I have had many different type of injuries from hockey. Mainly back issues, Ryan has been able to treat most of my injuries thoroughly. I like how he's very patient and detailed to specific areas and usually help pin point the main source of the injuries. Highly recommended

“Of all the specialist/docs that I've been to, I can see that Ryan is caring and knowledgeable. My insomnia problem has been going on for about a year now; even with a 7-8 hours of sleep, the quality of sleep was just bad and it felt more like a nap. Ryan walked me through my treatment program and gave me an idea why my body is doing this to me. I trusted his expertise and after 3 treatments, I no longer have issues with my sleep! I fall asleep quickly now, and wake up feeling refreshed! Thank you so much!”

"I have been receiving acupuncture and cupping from Ryan for more than a year now. I started seeing him after a car accident for headaches, pain, and muscle fatigue, muscle spasms and stiffness. The intensity of the pain is greatly reduced after treatments. He is very knowledgeable. His treatments have helped me greatly. His calm, friendly manner is much appreciated."

"I went to see Ryan for an ankle injury because I was not seeing any improvement in my ankle when I was going to physio. After a couple of treatment sessions, I have noticed less pain in my ankle. I was terrified of trying acupuncture as I am afraid of needles but Ryan made me feel at ease and relaxed during the treatment and always made sure I was comfortable before he left room. Ryan is very knowledgeable in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. He is the type of person that cares for all of his patients. I would highly recommend him if you’re in pain and scared of needles!"
